Allergy, Asthma & Immunology

Two years of fellowship training in pediatric and adult allergy prepared Dr. Vyas to find the root causes of your symptoms, then treat them by avoiding exposure or by desensitizing you to your triggers.

How we work

Being an allergist is somewhat like being a detective.

Start your evaluation

Listen to the whole story

When symptoms start, how long they last, what makes them better or worse, and what runs in the family. The history holds the first clues.

Test for the triggers

Allergy testing narrows down which pollens, molds, animals, foods or other allergens are behind your reactions.

Connect the evidence

Test results only matter when they match your symptoms. We put the pieces together to identify the true root cause.

Avoid or desensitize

Your plan reduces exposure to triggers, controls symptoms with the right medication, and when appropriate, builds tolerance through allergy shots.

Follow up as you change

Allergies and asthma shift with seasons and age. We adjust your plan so you stay ahead of symptoms.

Pediatrics

A pediatrician who is also an allergist

“Children are not small adults. They have special medical needs that change as they grow.”

From the first newborn visit to age 21, your child sees a doctor trained in both pediatrics and allergy. That matters when coughs, rashes or stomach troubles turn out to be allergy or asthma.

Common questions

Do you treat both children and adults for allergies?

Yes. Dr. Vyas completed fellowship training in both pediatric and adult allergy, so the whole family can be seen in one practice.

How do I know if it’s allergies or a cold?

Colds usually clear in 7 to 10 days and often bring aches or fever. Allergy symptoms like sneezing, itchy eyes and congestion tend to last for weeks, return at the same time each year, or flare around specific triggers. An allergy evaluation can find the cause.

What are allergy shots?

Allergy shots (immunotherapy) expose your body to gradually increasing doses of what you’re allergic to, so it becomes less sensitive over time. They can reduce symptoms and the need for daily medication.

What ages do you see for pediatrics?

We care for children from newborns to 21 years of age.
